A former doctor’s surgery, the Kurashiki Mingeikan Minami no Yado has since been restored as an accommodation facility, and now consists of three different guest accommodations – the Gawahan no Yado, the Naka no Yado and the Oku no Yado (featured here). Located between the Kurashiki Mingeikan (Japan Folk Crafts Museum) and the Japan Folk Toy Museum, all three guest accommodations contained within the Mingeikan Minami no Yado are perfect places to enjoy a relaxing stay, fully immersed within the rich history and culture of their neighbouring establishments.
The Oku no Yado is located on the upper floor of a newly constructed building on the Mingeikan premises. The large, open space, complete with visible roof beams, offers a view of the Mingei Square from its east window, the Kurashiki Mingeikan from the north window, as well as pleasant views of the adjacent woodland from the west window – scenery that takes on a distinct expression with each changing season.
